Author’s Note

I was writing poetry before I ever started writing any song lyrics.

Although sometimes a poem can be turned into a song, at other times it might be better left as a poem. Each piece deserves to be considered on its own merits. There have been times when I did set out intending to write a short song, but it then seemingly developed a life of its own and kept going, turning into something far beyond my original plan.

My professional business career often required researching historical data and compiling detailed narrative summaries. I also was responsible for drafting policy and procedural documentation, plus guidance materials. Those experiences have helped build my stamina for writing longer pieces of poetry.

This website is primarily devoted to the songs and the music. I hope you might also enjoy some of the poems.
